500 000 CZK for the Thomayer Hospital

At the beginning of this year we organized our 1st K&L Rock Representative Ball, which included an auction of sports jerseys of famous athletes. The aim of the auction was to raise funds to support the Clinic of Pediatric Surgery and Traumatology of the 3rd Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and Thomayer University Hospital. The auctioned jerseys allowed us to raise 500,000 CZK, which we donated to purchase a device using bipolar coagulation, an important tool in neurosurgery that helps in brain and spinal cord surgeries.

Already used in several procedures, this advanced device helps surgeons to stop bleeding precisely during operations, which contributes to safer and more efficient procedures and faster recovery for patients.

The handover of the device took place in the presence of the director of Thomayer Hospital Zdeněk Beneš, the head of the clinic Tomáš Pešl and the founders of our company, Erik Kmeta and Jan Lob. We are extremely proud to have been able to contribute to the improvement of care for pediatric patients and to support the hospital team that does an incredible job.

What is bipolar coagulation?

Bipolar coagulation is a modern method that uses an electric current to heat a small area of tissue, allowing bleeding to stop precisely. This technique minimizes the risk of damage to surrounding tissue and is an essential tool in neurosurgical operations where delicate and precise tissue manipulation is required. As a result, it contributes to faster recovery of patients and minimizes postoperative complications.
